Frédéric
Chopin was born in Poland on March 1, 1810, to a French tutor
and his Polish wife. Chopin met the notorious romance novelist
George Sand, (her nom de plume) at a dinner in the home of Franz
Liszt in the fall of 1838.
Chopin moved
to her manor house on June 1, 1839. It was here that Chopin would
spend seven summers and where he composed an impressive list of
works. With his serene compositional elegance and radiant style,
Mark King creates a languid summer day of the type that so enamored
Chopin during his stay at Nohant.
